The Alchemy of Words: an Anthology of Belizean Literature is a two-volume anthology
intended for use in first and second forms. Covering poetry, drama, and prose, it introduces students to the major genres of literature, using materials that relate to their language and experiences.
The second volume of the anthology provides students with further opportunities to develop the reading and writing competencies they will need to prepare for the CSEC English A and B.
For many years Deryck Satchwell, the Editor of this volume, has been serving as a CSEC Examiner and currently is a member of the CCSLC Panel and Chair of the English sub-committee for the ATLIB Placement Examination. During the editing of this book he was assisted by a team of enthusiastic English teachers - Gail Brooks, Isela Garay, Luisa Gillett, Alva Marin, Emil Pulido and Yvette Sanker.
